傣族(the Dai Nationality)是中国少数民族之一，主要居住在云南省的西双版纳。傣族历史悠久，在不同时期有不同的名称。傣族自称是“傣”，意为酷爱自由与和平的人。新中国成立后，正式将该民族定名为傣族。傣族人口约有120万，绝大多数的傣族人都信仰佛教(Buddhism)。他们有自己的语言文字。傣族最著名的节日是泼水节(Water Splashing Festival),也是傣族人的新年,一般持续3至7天,人们相互泼水表示祝福。傣族人很擅长跳舞,其中最著名的是孔雀舞(Peacock Dance)。

The Dai Nationality is one of the ethnic minorities in China, mostly living in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province. With a long history, the Dai Nationality had various names in different periods. The Dai people called themselves“Dai”, which means people loving freedom and peace. After the founding of New China, the name of “Dai”was officially recognized. The Dai people number is about 1.2 million with the majority of them believing in Buddhism. They have their own language. The most famous festival is the Water Splashing Festival, also the New Year for the Dai people. It usually lasts for 3 to 7 days during which people would splash each other to express good wishes. The Dai people are good at dancing, and the most famous dance is Peacock Dance.
翻译评分标准
翻译试题所呈现的是一个或几个汉语段落，不含生僻的专业词汇或习语。六级的试题内容难度略高于四级。要求考生在规定的时间内将汉语段落译成英语。
四级和六级的翻译均采用总体印象评分方式。翻译满分为15分，分为五个档次：14分档（13-15分）、11分档（10-12分）、8分档（7-9分）、5分档（4-6分）和2分档（1-3分）。四级和六级均采用相同的档次描述。每次阅卷时，参照档次描述分别确定当次考试四级和六级各档次的评分样卷。阅卷员经过培训后参照评分样卷对考生的翻译答卷进行评分。
