As I am not a professional film critic and this article is my first film comment, I will just share my personal feeling as a normal audience who haven’t watch the wandering earth 1 or its book.
In a word, the film deserves my money for the ticket.
It succeeded in pushing me to review the novel, maybe also making those who only watched the film become interested in the novel, or further, this film will let more people fall love with scientific.
Ah, let’s start from the surface, the scene. I am a lover for interstellar, which has been the most successful film juggling with sci-fi and commercial value in history.
In my opinion, TWE2 is still behind interstellar (don’t be angry, we are now comparing our film with the masterpiece!) I may guess that the director has studied from interstellar and showed the result in TWE2, like the scene of Tu Hengyu writing drafts on the wall in the jail.
But overall, TWE2 is amazing. The special effect is so vivid. You can easily experience human power from all the architecture and the width of mysterious universe. I felt myself like dust when facing the screen. The scene effectively helped us immerse in the story.
To the shot…… few of my dissatisfied points. I am not professional in this field, so I just give my little opinion as a normal audience: director, can you stop pan 360 degrees around characters?! One or two time is enough, too much just let me feel bored！?
Even senior high students know that the less same word used, the higher grade in writing task. And panning is not that useful. On the contrary, it easily pushed me out of the atmosphere! It's enough to simply fix the camera, focusing the face of the crying character! Our actors all have great acting skills that can withstand long shots. They are not the XXX next door, right?
Pardon me for interruption because I want to spend a little time going back to the novel. It had been a long time since I read the novel. I reviewed it after the film. The film didn’t tell the story according to the novel completely. It just used the background and world structure in the novel. It told more concrete stories. Comparing with the novel which is in first person, the film succeeded in fulfilling severe readers.
Because all the stories are logical, in consistent with everyone’s emotion if we face all the dilemma. The characters are also normal people, they show normal people’s fear and courage while facing disasters. For the difference, the atmosphere in the film is warmer, more positive and more passionate than the novel. I like this change.
What I want to discuss most is the plot.
The director and the writers didn’t treat audience as fool. Every character acts and talks just suitable for their personalities and identities.
The way of telling story is multi-line narrative. And it’s not individualistic heroism. I love this. I believe if we want to save the world, individual’s power is so little, like dust. But everyone gives his or her little power, the goal can be achieved finally. That’s why everyone can be a hero.
Tu Hengyu's death let him make redemption for himslef. he struggled between his daughter and humans. First time he chose his daughter, which caused great disasters for mankind. This choice is logical because Yaya is his only hope in life. But when Ma Zhao died, he chose to pay the price for his choice
The film didn’t have a main character indeed. Liu Peiqiang acted by Wu Jing and Tu Hengyu acted by Liu Dehua have most plots. But indeed, they didn’t occupy all the highlights. Around Liu there are his teacher Zhang Peng, his teacher’s friend Nov, his wife and his partners. Around Tu Hengyu there is Ma Zhao. There is also another line of the designers: diplomat Zhou and his student. There is not villian. Life’s a struggle. Every character has his or her difficult to face. But during struggling, they found their directions and tried their best. The process is realistic and inspires us.
The most touching plot……oh how difficult to choose! Zhang’s love for Liu, waiting for him always; “Everyone over fifty, march!” Even I knew this plot before the film, it caught my breath; Diplomat Zhou, every time he appeared, my eyes would stare at him, with fear whether he would die; Ma Zhao, a mysterious man like machine. I was almost cried when he was dying under the water. “civilization without human is meaningless!”
But the most touching point, in my view, is the countdown. Silent boom, silent death, silent love for the earth. I could say no more words. If you have watched the film, you will understand my feeling. If you have not watched yet, go. Just this plot worths the ticket.
The advantages:?
1.the jokes are not embarrassing. Like old astronaut taught Liu adjust his gesture holding roses, like Zhang Peng had no sooner confidently told Liu he had bribed the soldiers before his face was slapped, like the crowd sighed so loud when Liu failed to tell his love, like Liu’s unfortunate black partner. Every time he appeared brought us joy!
2.Zhang and Nov are also cute. I really love humorous f*cking tough guy who is reliable!?
3. The theme is inclusive. It’s about the union, which includes all kinds of human emotion and dream. We can see the complexity and abundance on human.
4.At the beginning, the multi-line narrative may be a little frustrated. But when it goes on, it’s easy to understand. The atmosphere is positive but not hypocritical.
As for the disadvantages:
1.Lines could be better. Some are too formal. And we don’t need too much talking, especially for Hao Xiaoxi and Tu Hengyu. It could be closer to life sometimes.
2.There is no need for music to become loud in important plots always. Slight BGM is more suitable for impressive scenes sometimes. As we all know, “silence can speak.”
3.Hao Xiaoxi’s performance can be better.
4.The rhythm is too quick in some places. Maybe because of the time limits. There left some mysteries such as why people close the global internet web? How do people persuade the opponents since we have been so bound to internet?
Question:
Does Moss spy on humans all the time? How did it lead to all the destruction?
Who sent the warning letters? Are they from Yaya and Daddy in the future? How is Yaya’
s future?
Artificial intelligence is still very scary, and in reality we have to be careful.
Last one, in the novel, when human beings were pushed through the solar system, a huge rebellion broke out. Rebellion think they are cheated by the designers and scientists. Ironically, no sooner had the public 影评英语作文 killed them than the sun burst. So, how will the movie be made?
