Abstract: Physical education category system is an effective tool for forming an integral and systematic under-standing of physical education, the logic framework of a basic physical education theory system. In order to strengthen the study of basic physical education theories and improve their scientificity, it is necessary to study and build a category system that can generally reflect the basic characteristics and patterns of physical education devel-opment. The author expatiated on the purposes and value orientation of and methods for building a basic physical education theory category system. By applying dialectical logic methods such as development from the abstract to the concrete and the unification of logic and history, the author studied and established the core and basic categories of basic physical education theories, and discussed their logic relationships. According to such a main logic line as physical education behavior (logic start point)→physical education system (logic medium)→humanistic physical education (logic end point), the author built the structure of a basic physical education theory category system.
